There is a popular restaurant chain that I recently learned doesn’t have a “J” in it. ChiJis, or Chihis if you pronounce it in Spanish, isn’t actually from the country of Chile. If you look really hard, there’s a lowercase “l” behind that “j” between the two “i”s.
I offer the proverbial boot to kick it out of existence (hence the le boot in the title). The hl ligature doesn’t sit well with me, especially neglecting the “i” in between.
Chili’s Restaurant ought to be known for correct spelling. So a quick-n-dirty reboot for my le boot is this:
Readability is restored, the wraparound style still carries the brand identity, and chili’s can start serving meals again.
